What exactly am I doing?

I don't know all of the details yet, but I when I find out exactly what I will be doing I will be sure to let you know.

As an environmental education promoter in Nicaragua, I will primarily be working with two-three local elementary schools, co-teaching with local school teachers and incorporating environmental themes into the curriculum. I will also be organizing a kind of "eco-brigade" for kids aged 10-17 and help implement projects to conserve the local environment.

But first there is a three month "Pre-service training". This is when I will learn Spanish, some techniques to accomplish these goals, and try to adjust to the local culture. I will be with 3-4 other volunteers in a community outside of Jinotepe, just south of Managua, but will convene with the whole training group a couple times a week. After this I will move to my permanent site where I will begin my full, 2 year service!
